Introduction The LOC welcomes all football loving people to the 26th MTN Africa Cup of Nations Ghana 2008. 4 new stadia have been built for the purpose and are located as follows: Accra : Ohene Djan Stadium with a capacity of 40,000 all seated Kumasi : Baba Yara Stadium with a capacity of 40,000 all seated Sekondi : Sekondi Sports Stadium with a capacity of 20,000 Tamale : Tamale Sports Stadium with a capacity of 20,000s Host Cities Accra will host Group A : Ghana, Guinea, Namibia and Morocco Kumasi will host Group C : Egypt, Cameroon, Sudan and Zambia Sekondi will host Group B : Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Mali and Benin Tamale will host Group D : Tunisia, Senegal, South Africa and Angola Ticketing Objectives The LOC intends to ensure that fans and supporters access the stadia with as little human assistance as possible and thus the LOC has provided a lot of information on the tickets to enable each one find their seat easily. The structure of each ticket considers: Colour of Stands Sectors Rows Seat Numbers Match Details; teams and time Price Logos: Sponsors, GFA, LOC Chip All tickets will be colour-coded to facilitate entry into stadia Description of Stadia For ticketing purposes each stadia is divided into 4 main areas (North, South, East and West) and each area is colour-coded. For example: Accra North (also known as Goal Rear) is coded Blue South (also known as Goal Rear) is coded Orange East (also known as Centre Line East) is coded Green West Upper Level is VIP and is coded Gray Lower Level is Centre Line West and is coded White Kumasi North (also known as Goal Rear) is coded Red South (also known as Goal Rear) is coded Green East (also known as Centre Line East)is coded Yellow West Upper Level is VIP and is coded Gray Lower Level is Centre Line West and is coded Gray Wings is also Centre Line West and is coded White Sekondi North (also known as Goal Rear) is coded Yellow South (also known as Goal Rear) is coded Yellow East (also known as Centre Line East) is coded Green West VIP Section is coded Gray Non-VIP Section is coded White Tamale North (also known as Goal Rear) is coded Yellow South (also known as Goal Rear) is coded Yellow East (also known as Centre Line East) is coded Green West VIP Section is coded Gray Non-VIP Section is coded White Ticket Sales 1. The LOC’s objectives are to ensure that: tickets are ready and available for sale at the right time tickets are allocated equitably to all stakeholders tickets are correctly priced distribution is effective, efficient & available on time to those who need them tickets are sold completely in advance of Open Day all tickets are sold for each match and revenue is maximized 2. Timeliness : Tickets should be available for public sale from 31st December, 2007 3. Stakeholders identified include: Complementary Group: CAF/FIFA, Gov’t, LOC, GFA, other VVIPs Sponsors, Partners and Suppliers Hosts and other 15 Qualifying Nations 37 Non-Qualifying Nations Corporate Clients Tour Companies Local Tour Companies Overseas Open Market Local Open Market Overseas 4. Ticket Distribution Complementary Group : as per existing arrange Sponsors, Partners and Suppliers: as per existing agreements Hosts and Qualifying Nations: through national FAs Non-Qualifying Nations: through national FAs Corporate Clients (for bulk purchase): by application to LOC Tour Companies (for bulk purchase): by application to LOC Open Market Local : via Ghana Post Company Branches : via Ghana Commercial Bank Branchesat Stadia Open Market Overseas : via Ghana Missions Abroad via internet 5. Logistics Complementary Group and Sponsors: delivery per existing arrangements Qualifying and Non-Qualifying Nations: by DHL courier Corporate Clients and Tour Companies : by DHL courier Corporate Clients (for bulk purchase): by application to LOC Tour Companies (for bulk purchase): by application to LOC Open Market Local : delivery per existing agreements Open Market Overseas : via Ministry of Foreign Affairs Open Market Overseas (Internet) : via outsourcing arrangements 6. Allocation Principles Allocations will be made on match by match basis Teams playing will be allocated up to 40% of the match tickets Other stakeholders will be allocated up to 55% in total per match 7. Open Market Overseas To facilitate global coverage a review of Ghana Mission Offices indicated a presence in each of the six FIFA confederations. The confederations or continental groupings and the representative countries are as follows: CAF (Africa) : all affiliates will be served through their FAs AFC (Asia) : China, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia OCEANIA (Australasia): Australia CONMEBOL (South America) : Brazil CONCACAF (North America): USA, Canada UEFA (Europe) : Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Russia, Spain, UK, Yugoslavia 8. Miscellaneous All tickets would be sold in advance No tickets will be sold at the stadia on match days except in exceptional circumstances If stadia sales are inevitable; sales will end 2 hours before start of match; thus, For 1700 hours start; gates open at 1100 hours and close at 1400 hours No change to above if double header For 1900 hours start; gates open at 1100 hours and close at 1700 hours for single matches Purchasing a Ticket Contact sales outlets listed above under Ticket Distribution Select stadium (venue city) Request for, pay for and collect ticket Refer to the Stadium Seating Plan and select sector, row and seat number On Match Day Note the colour code, sector, row and seta number on the ticket Proceed to the relevant colour area of the stadium Access through the entrance gate/turnstile via the sector number stated on the ticket (ensure this number corresponds to the number on the gate). Refer to the Stadium Seating Plan and select sector, row and seat number Follow the sector number through the stairwells to the concourse and then the seating area Proceed to the row and seat specified on the ticket Consult a volunteer should assistance be needed at any stage Ticket Prices GH¢75 for VIP seats GH¢15 for Centre Line seats GH¢4 for Goal Rear seats Conclusions Please be advised to secure your ticket in advance and arrive at the stadia early so you have enough time to familiarize yourself with the new facilities at the stadia
